WILLIAM W. BURGESS
(1821-1880?)
OF GRANT COUNTY, KENTUCKY

William W(ebber?) [son of William S. (I).]. He is also called William Burgess Jr. Bom about 1821 in Harrison Co., KY. Married Mrs. Sarah Ann "Sallie" (Crosswhite?) Kinman on 9 Nov. 1857 in Grant Co. (she was bom about 1831 in KY, and died there on 1 Feb. 1894). Listed in the Harrison Co. tax records in 1843, 1846-49, 1851-53, 1855, in Grant Co. from 1854-80, in the 1850 census for Harrison Co., KY with William A. Webber, and in the 1860-80 censuses for Stewartsville, Downingsville Precinct, Grant Co., KY. William Burgess was a fanner in Grant Co. He died there between 1880-1890 (his wife is listed as head of the family on the 1890 personal property tax list, the only one surviving from this period). Sarah Burgess's estate is recorded in Grant Co. Inventory and Appraisal Book #C, p. 204-205, dated 12 Mar. 1894, but since it had more debts than assets, no settlement was recorded.
